Battery Replacement There are several types of WaterRower Performance Monitor and hence battery configurations and specifications. S4 Monitor Instructions (current model- machines built after mid 2005, serial numbers > 20000) The S4 monitor batteries are located in the monitor housing and are accessible through a battery cover on the rear of the monitor. Remove the two retaining screws and remove the battery cover. The S4 monitor uses 4 AA 1.5v batteries. Worldwide Series III (machines built between Jan'99 and mid 2005, serial numbers < 20000) The WaterRower Series III Performance Monitor battery is located behind the key block, between the tank assembly, the footboard and the internal end of the monitor spigot tube. The monitor battery is fastened either by a purpose built plastic clip or by Velcro. The batteries used are AA 1.5v batteries. UK Series III As Worldwide Series III, above. US Series II (Nordic Track Design- pre Jan'99) The WaterRower Series II monitor was a simple countdown timer imbedded in the footboard. It is distinguishable by its three button facia. The battery is inside the countdown timer. The battery used is a type 357A. US Series II (Pre Nordic Track) The WaterRower Series II Performance Monitor (pre Nordic Track) is distinguishable by its four button and four data window design. It fits adjacent to the top of the footboard and is about 4" square. The battery is located underneath the top deck above the drive strap in front of the paddle shaft. The battery used is a 6v camera battery (Duracell- DL233A, Eveready- EL223AP, Kodak- K223LA) UK Series II The WaterRower UK Series II Performance Monitor battery is located behind the key block, between the tank assembly, the footboard and the internal end of the monitor spigot tube. The monitor battery is fastened either by a purpose built metal clip. The battery used is a PP3 9v battery. US/UK Series I Computer The WaterRower Series I was produced with various types of performance monitor. These can best be distinguished by the number of buttons on the display. Eight Button Design- the battery is inside the monitor and is accessible by removing four screws. The battery used is a 6v Duracell- 7K67B, Eveready- EN539. Three Button Design- the battery is located inside the monitor and accessible by unscrewing a battery hatch on the rear of the unit. The battery used is a 3v CR2032 or equivalent.
